Scope:

This project will be upgrading the MICROS point-of-sale software to version 3.2 SP2.

The MICROS Point-of-Sale software upgrade will allow credit card and gift card transactions to be processed through the system. For this project we are looking for the additional enhancements that version 3.2 SP2 will provide to the overall stability of the environment.

(Note: Until PCI compliance is in place and confirmed - this software will not be utilized for credit card transactions.)

Main Goal: Move to 3.2 SP2 for credit cards

Moving to version 3.2 SP2 allows us to begin taking credit cards and gift card at the Micros devices. This is a huge step in gaining efficiency however there are now new Service Packs we need to consider OVER AND ABOVE the main goal.

o Sub Goal 1: Move to 3.2 SP2 for efficiencies in the following:

Indexes have been added to Oracle database to improve performance, optimization of indexes improves 9700 overall

2 line pole displays now display properly

EMC does not crash when inserting a range of menu items (!!!)

Connection leaks on database platforms have been fixed (!!)

Handling of clearing cache have been improved

o Sub Goal 2: Move to 3.2 SP2 for efficiencies in the following:

Cashier Financial Reports may now be run at the POS

Assignment of manager cards may now be run at the POS

Redirection of Order Device printers if 1 is out-of-order or has a paper jam (Einstein's Bagels).

Mobil handheld changing of RVC now works like POS changing RVC
