Scope:
The ASU Teach for America (TFA) Institute is a summer program enrolling over 800 students, faculty and support staff. This socially embedded program trains recent college graduates in K-12 classroom skills, placing the graduates in underserved school districts in Arizona and throughout the nation. Institute members come from all 50 states and are immediately emerged in the program from the day they arrive on campus.
Institute and staff members need ASU Conference Suncards w/preloaded stipend, ASURITE Ids, access to Sites and Classroom services, access to Google Docs, ISAAC access to Hassayampa residential hall. Services and access must be in place prior to the first day of the institute. All instructions, including wireless access and wireless printing to be sent to institute members prior to arriving on campus. In addition BAC16 will be set up as both a computing facility and copy center, five Hassayampa classrooms set up as team computing facilities, Hassayampa Learning Resource Center first floor for printing and computing and Hassayampa Learning Resource Center second floor for printing and wireless use.
The TFA Technology Solutions Project Manager will ensure that all technology requirements are coordinated and carried out prior, during and post institute.
Outline of what the Project Manager will need to focus on for the TFA Summer 09 Institute:
- Use of labs and classrooms (Common Computing)
- TFA will need access to computing site (BAC 16) and classrooms around Tempe Campus for training
- Classroom usage schedule through Academic Scheduling (Kathy Tibbetts)
- Sun Card (Sun Card Office)
- Will be using conference card
- Card will need to be used for printing, copying, access to dorms, access to classrooms, and dining
- ASURITE Accounts
- TFA will need ASURITE accounts setup to access ASU computing systems
- Email not needed.
- Printing
- Will need location to have wireless print drivers for TFA to download and use

- Coordinate printing and copying resources with Digital Document Services
- Copy Center (Canon)
- Setup of copy center in Mohave classroom in Hassayampa, coordinating with Digital Document Services
