Streamlining MACS, eAdvisor, Graduation

Quick View
Summary:

Develop a method to streamline eAdvisor and mandatory advising to facilitate less confusion for students and advisers with unnecessary holds. Provost's office is receiving feedback that the students are receiving so many holds that they are becoming meaningless. Also, with the Declaration of Graduation advising hold being obsolete, colleges want to apply a graduation readiness check. UTO needs to develop a method of streamlining eAdvisor and mandatory advising so that students aren't bombarded with holds and advisers can efficiently serve all the students needs.

Priority:

Scope:

Researching and collecting data from eAdvisor, MACS and graduation notices and determining the possibility of combining the processes together for a single sign-off from advisers. Developing logic that prioritize advising holds, eliminate either the eAdvisor hold or the mandatory advising hold should a student(s) meet criteria in which they should receive multiple holds, dependent on what is best for the college and creating new advising messages for the adviser to inform them of the status of the student. Also, develop the best method to inform junior undergraduate students they are approaching graduation and it would be best to meet with their advisers to make sure they are on track or what steps they need to take to make sure they graduate on schedule.

9/15 - Just added to the scope, the Provost's office would like to mod the Student Advising Sign-off page to incorporate a link to access eAdvisor information and display status. Also, develop a MyReport to give an accurate adviser/student ratio at the plan, acad org, acad prog, and university levels.
