Summary:

The Federal Government makes annual changes to financial aid policies. The purpose of this project is to analyze the impact of these changes and make the appropriate adjustments in the PeopleSoft Financial Aid module so that ASU can continue its processes in compliance with these regulations. In addition, ASU may adjust some of the rules and financial aid models. The project will test these adjustments as well.

Accomplishing these tasks will involve a) implementing delivered updates via Oracle “Regs” releases, b) modifying delivered setup to support the new regulations and ASU and c) developing or revising ASU customizations to accommodate the new regulations.

Scope:

Joint efforts by UTO and Student Financial Assistance Office will use the PeopleSoft Financial Assistance module of PeopleSoft to align ASU processes with the Financial Aid reguations. The scope of this project is to make necessary adjustments to PeopleSoft to support 2010-2011 federal regulations for financial aid and complete the year-end processing for the 2009-2010 aid year.

Install regulatory updates from Oracle to meet ASU processing deadlines
Modify ASU extensions and modifications to accommodate the new
regulations
Update configuration tables to include ASU changes in Financial Aid
Modify set-up tables to reflect the new academic year and regulations
Test configuration and code changes
Modify run controls and QBU processes to reflect the new year
Coordinate run schedules to accommodate processing of multiple years
Align FA system with other modifications introduced due to other ASU
projects in Financial Aid
