Scope: 

Coordinate the relocation of 8 racks of servers from Fulton Center and Old Main to ISTB1. This will require installing infrastructure in ISTB1 to include Cable tray, networking hardware and power.

All Milestones and Schedule: 

Discovery phase:

  • Document all exsisting connections to include VLAN and IP addresses October 1, 2008 (UTO Complete)
  • Determine location and cage requirement in ISTB1 October 24, 2008 (UTO IA) (UTO Complete)
  • Estimate cost to install Power, Etherswitches, and fiber in ISTB1. November 3, 2008 (UTO)
  • Approve budget November 7, 2008 (UTO)

Installation phase:

  • Create temporary fiber connection between Fulton and ISTB1 October 10, 2008 (UTO Complete)
  • Create new IP address range October 28, 2008 (UTO Complete)
  • Install Fiber ISTB1 TBD (UTO)
  • Schedule after hours movers TBD (UTO)
  • Install Power ISTB1 TBD (UTO)
  • Install two 4948 Etherswitches in Fulton server racks TBD (UTO)
  • Move servers to 4948 Etherswitches TBD (UTO IA)
  • Remove exsisting patch panels for server racks. TBD (UTO)
  • Move server racks from Fulton and Main to ISTB1  (UTO IA)
