Summary: 

ASU enterprise administrative systems are Oracle/PeopleSoft systems. The underlying technology, called PeopleTools, is going through a major upgrade this fall from version 8.49 to 8.50. Oracle has been working through the development cycle for the past 2 1/2 years and is ready to release the beta code to a select set of customer for feedback. The project is scheduled to run for approximately 6 weeks beginning Monday August 10th. The goal of the project is to get customer feedback on the new user interface and integration options for PS applications.

Scope: 

The scope of the PeopleTools 8.50 beta includes, downloading, installing, testing and providing feedback for the next generation of PeopleTools. This version of PeopleTools is required for our eventual migration to the 9.1 release of the HRIS system and the 9.0 + feature pack version of the student administration system. The beta 8.50 software is scheduled to be available August 10th with the initial GA (general availability) release scheduled for late September.

In this beta test, ASU will have early access to the 8.50 code to begin the analysis required for our upcoming upgrade to the next releases of PeopleSoft software. We will be able to show some of our core administrative users and development staff the advantages and enhancements that are included in this next release. In addition, we will be providing valuable feedback to, Oracle, our primary vendor for enterprise administrative applications.

8/31 - 9/11 - Open up for develoment
9/14 - ASU provide feedback to Oracle
