Summary: 

My Apps is the one location for access to applications for the university.  It allows applications to run from online, download to local machines, or determine where on campus that application can be accessed.  This new version will implement additional user friendly features for example simplier access to My Files space, better USB support, simplification to the interface,

Patch released, will postmortem and close project 9.14

Patch released on 9.11, no issues reported. Closing project on 9.15.

Scope: 

Incorporate additional usability and functionality:

  • Integrated authentication for single sign-on access.
  • Better integration with Instructor Volumes.
  • Improved USB support
  • Better accessiblity for classes in classrooms and labs.
  • Simplification of user interface.
    • icon and applicaiton name will launch the online application
    • Updated demo video
    • Simplified description information
  • Site map information on the location to run applications in labs/classrooms updated to provide additional information.
  • Search filter should only return information based on users access rights.
  • URL link to applications hosted by 3rd party vendors
  • Evaluate and implement instructor/focus group feedback
  • Clarify information for instructors on instructor volumtes and blackboard setup.
  • Additional logging/auditing
  • Simplify license code distribution
  • Software metering/monitoring of Citrix and downloaded applications.
