Summary: 

This project is being proposed to identify an opt-in migration strategy for faculty and staff who would like to use Gmail for ASU rather than Exchange.

During this project, the University Technology Office will be creating a phased migration plan to move as many UTO staff to Gmail for ASU as possible. Some features will restrict who can transition from MS Exchange over to Gmail for ASU now, including public folder use, distribution list management, and inbox delegate access.

  1. Identify the need for any Postini services, deploy if required
  2. Define single mailbox migration strategy
  3. Migrate test groups within the University Technology Office
  4. Develop "One Touch Migration Process" to migrate:
    1. Email
    2. Calendar
    3. Contacts
  5. Provide mechanism for University wide opt-in
  6. Create end user documentation
  7. Provide training material to educate the University on improper email use.
