Scope: 

The scope of ETD includes the following:
* Front facing web application running with valid SSL certificate. Form to be used by graduate students to upload their thesis or dissertation once they have passed their defense;
* Workflow routing with automated email notification;
* Links added in My ASU for student to navigate to ETD tool;
* Ability to annotate documents and route back to student, committee chair(s) and/or Graduate College;
* Upload and retention of documents in a variety of formats, with assumption that base document is in PDF format;
* Capacity to store all documents related to student's thesis or dissertation. Estimated storage needs are 100 GB of space (500 documents per year x 50 MB per student x 3 years);
* Upon final approval, hand off documents to ASU Library KnowledgeNet and UMI/ProQuest for permanent retention using web services

10/9/2009 - Coordinate meeting with UMI/ProQuest to determine next steps and feasability of use - COMPLETE
11/10/2009 - Meet with UMI/ProQuest - COMPLETE
11/17/2009 - Make final recommendation regarding use of UMI/ProQuest - COMPLETE
11/17/2009 - Submit request for built out to UMI/ProQuest - COMPLETE
12/04/2009 - Complete technical and security review of UMI/ProQuest solution - WAITING FOR FEEDBACK FROM UMI/PROQUEST
12/04/2009 - Review technical architecture with ARB - WAITING FOR FEEDBACK FROM UMI/PROQUEST
01/15/2010 - Test interface
01/31/2010 - Go live and enable links in My ASU
