Scope:

The scope of this project is to create the infrastructure to enable the migration of Control-D reports and repository from the mainframe Control-D to a Control-D distributed system.

This is an interim solution until these archived reports have expired or a more suitable alternative has been identified.

Control-D provides report management that has automated report handling functions within ASUs datacenter. This fulfilled many roles dealing with report handling such as distribution, transformation, archiving, indexing, security, bundling and printing, as well as incorporating web browser feature rich functions for online viewing.

Control-D is used to view archived reports from the recently decommissioned HR (Human Resources) and SIS (Student Information System) legacy systems. It continues to fulfill report handling functions for the university's financial system Advantage.

Deliverables:

The deliverable for this project is to create the infrastructure to enable the migration of Control-D reports and repository from the mainframe Control-D to a Control-D distributed system.

Risk & Threats:

Issues to be addressed:

Completed:  Long term report storage - Determine disk requirements, location and duration.

Completed:  Mainframe PTF's (Program Temporary Fix) - Specific program fixes must be applied on the mainframe component for Control-D in order to properly migrate specific reports that include indexes.  This will require a special knowledge of mainframe PTF procedures.  We have a mutual agreement for the use of Jane Florez to accomplish these tasks.

69% Resolved:  Application and Data Failover - A recovery plan needs to be drafted and then tested.

100% Resolved:  ASUrite ID implication - Jack Hsu needs a document describing Control-D/DS security capabilities and related APIs so his team can formulate a plan to implement appropriate security.

100% Resolved:  WebAccess - Web farming required?  Can we use the existing WebAccess?
