ASU PD: Prepare for New World System Upgrade

The ASU Police Department is anticipating upgrading the New World System application in the first half of 2009.  To prepare for this upgrade and in response to significant changes to in 2008, this project will solidify the infrastructure that will be used for the upgrade.  The primary benefit of this project is to identify any items in the current infrastructure that may need update and to confirm the foundation on which the upgrade will occur.

Scope: 

The project will include the following tasks:

  • Configure and build a test environment for New World Systems
  • Complete VLAN clean-up for Tempe ASU PD facility
  • Complete documentation of the current network architecture
  • Review current disaster recovery and business continuity infrastructure and procedures
  • Prepare recommendation based on the review and recent audit as to future hardware/software/network changes
  • Prepare action plan for any items that would inhibit the upgrade to the next version of New World Systems
Deliverables: 
  • Test environment for use during future system upgrades or enhancements
  • Current infrastructure documentation
  • Recommendations and estimates for any future infrastructure changes
