Dashboard - Faculty 1.2

The faculty dashboard was created and finished according to the scope of the previous project plan. However questions remained as to the security, audience, and a few finishing touches with regard to the reporting it brings back. These final points will be addressed with the ultimate goal of releasing this dashboard to Deans, the business managers and others in the Provost's Office.

Dashboard for PeopleSoft Security and Advantage Access Information

The requirement is to combine access information about PeopleSoft and Advantage into one view so that administrative access for an individual can be reviewed in one place. This will also allow views by department and role.
Access to this information will assist data trustees and departments with identifying segregation of duty issues as well as recognizing any other access issues that need some type of action.

Currently PeopleSoft audit reports are generated monthly and sent to data trustees to review access to roles. The reports are large and cumbersome to read.

Data Project for Research Reporting

With the intent of adding other sources of research activity to the NSF Survey, other data sources need to be consolidated and centralized. The Data project will consist of creating the extraction queries, transformation processes, and load procedures to migrate this data to an environment that can be used by the individuals responsible for the reporting.

The revised expectations are that the Research Dashboard show the "University Investment" along with the other expenditures made in support of research activities, and that this be available as soon as possible to display the fiscal year end results. Tables and other objects will be created in the UTO SQL Server consolidated environment, and will eventually be accessible by staff and officers who need to use the data to report university research activity completely and consistently. The project is a high-priority need.
